A Rock/Hip-Hop/Electronic artist raised in Chicago, Mr. Epok took an interest in music at age 10 after finding an old Emenee organ tucked away in the attic, expanding to double bass player in the high school band, and soon moving on to electric bass, classical guitar and other instruments.



"I would play anything I could get my hands on, I was addicted."



Soon after, during the '90's, Jim enjoyed playing in scores of rock, metal, and classic rock bands as bass player and backing vocalist; but also was engineering samples to be played during these live performances.



 

"We swapped instruments, everyone was experimenting, it was a great time."

 

 

After growing weary of the local music scene, Jim retreated into himself for nearly a decade to study computer programming, the physics of sound and quantum science.



 

He explains, "I didn’t want to just perform other folks' music on stage. That's great fun, but music has always held a deeper meaning for me. It's a very personal thing. And I needed to hone the skills necessary in order to communicate thoughts, my voice."



 

Emerging in 2009, Nohtimo wrote and produced his first single "I Get Drunk" which debuts on Expedition Recordings.



 

"I was experimenting heavily with all facets of music and sound, it was a vibration that needed to get out, the trickster."



Nohtimo Epok is currently seeking to break down barriers and discover new dimensions with his next musical expression, a full length album.
